Countdown Dungeon

Roll six dice. Build the longest countdown run you can. Cut down what stands in the dark.

Countdown Dungeon is a dice-forging roguelike where every attack is a countdown — a strictly descending run of dice like 10 → 9 → 8 → 7. The longer the chain, the harder it lands. Descend a Berserk-inspired dungeon, read your enemies, forge your dice, and see how far into the black you can go before something reads you.

How it plays

Press space bar to roll dice and move on map. Fight with enemies making longest countdown chain by clicking on dices and beat the dungeon.

Forge your dice

You don't level up. You rebuild your dice. At each campfire, rest for health or reforge a die into something stranger:

  • ◆ Emerald — even faces boost the run's multiplier
  • ▲ Blood — odd faces add flat damage
  • ■ Iron — counts double when you Defend
  • ✦ Void — wild; fills a gap or extends a run
  • ✸ Sun — rolls twice, keeps the higher
  • ✜ Thorn — reflects damage when you brace

Every die changes what a "good hand" even means. Your six dice are your build.

Descend the board

Between fights you move across a dungeon floor — a ring of tiles hiding encounters, traps, healing, campfires, and dice you can claim. But a clock is ticking: spend too long and the floor boss comes for you whether you're ready or not. The tiles you walk are the preparation.

Three floors deep, each nastier than the last, ending on Grief, the Apostle of the Nadir.

Know your enemy

Enemies aren't just health bars — they carry passives that rewrite the fight:

  • Some bar a face from your runs, breaking your best chain
  • Some grow stronger every turn you let them live
  • Some heal, armor up, or enrage as they bleed
  • Some take no damage at all from runs that are too short

Learn the pattern. Break the pattern. Or die on the stone and start again.

Features

  • Dice-driven combat built entirely on the countdown mechanic — no two turns are the same hand
  • Telegraphed, learnable enemies with stacking passive abilities
  • Deckbuilding, but with dice — forge and reforge a pool that becomes your build
  • A ticking dungeon board of risk-reward tiles and a boss on a timer
  • Hand-inked, black-and-white Berserk-inspired art

Build the countdown. Bring it down.
